The Northlands Parkway Collegiate Varsity Girls Basketball Team won their home invitational tournament this past Saturday.

The Nighthawks defeated the Westgate Wings 60-54 in the final.

This is the first time Northlands Parkway won it's Invitational Tournament since opening the school five years ago.

"The team put together 3 solid games this weekend," said NPC coach Todd Redhead. "I was very pleased with the overall effort and intensity. They played especially well in the final game vs Westgate. They did not panic when they fell behind and really pulled together as a team to push back ahead and hold the lead to the finish."

"Winning our Annual Invitational tournament was a goal of ours right from the beginning of the season. After coming in 2nd at the Portage Collegiate Tournament with a reduced team, we knew we had a good chance to finish up our last tournament of the season strongly. It was great to see our five grade 12's playing together in their final tournament. I'm so happy for them to finish their four years at NPC with a big win in this tournament."
