The death count continues to rise in Southeastern Manitoba due to an anthrax outbreak.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced 9 more animals have died since Thursday bringing the total to 38.

Since the outbreak was first reported 37 head of cattle and 1 horse have died.

All of the deaths have been on 4 farms in the municipalities of Stuartburn and Franklin.

An official with the Agency confirms there are several samples in the lab which will be tested over the weekend.
