Niverville’s iconic grain elevator is no more.

As was reported earlier, the current owner of the elevator, Grant Dyck from Artel farms, said the facility just wasn't getting used enough to justify the structure.

pping the first load of barley overseas, we have always kind of been that elevator town. Sentimental, absolutely."

That said, Dyck notes this is a sign of Niverville’s forward momentum.

"To see a symbol of what was and what is no more, it just shows the evolution of agriculture in Canada and how things move forward so it is a symbol of change but it is fond memories. To see it come down, a little bit of remorse but at the same time things move forward."
