Four Manitobans are among 35 skaters invited to the National Women’s Under-18 selection camp, August 6th-15th in Toronto. The four are defenceman Alexis Woloschuk of Winnipeg and forwards Shelby Bram of Ste. Anne, Kristine Grenier of St. Leon and Meghan Dufault of Winnipeg. Hockey Canada will use the August selection camp to select 22 players for a three-game series against the United States’ Women’s Under-18 Select Team in Lake Placid, N.Y., August 18, 19 and 21. Following the three-game series, Hockey Canada’s regional scouts, along with the under-18 coaching staff, will evaluate players with their club teams, with the goal of selecting a team for the 2011 World Women’s Under-18 Championship, next spring in Sweden.

The five are defenceman Brigette Lacquette of Waterhen and forwards Bailey Bram of Ste. Anne, Christine Bestland of Brunkild and Chelsea Karpenko and Jenelle Kohanchuk of Winnipeg. The players attending camp are eligible to represent Canada at the 2011 MLP Cup in Switzerland in early January.
