Runners as young as five years old had some help lacing up their running shoes alongside runners of all ages on Saturday in Carman.

The Boyne Book it Fun Run took place to help fundraise for the Boyne Regional Library Renovation/Expansion project.

Organizer Victoria Froebe says the project includes, "a 1,700 square foot addition to the library, an expansion to the children’s section, an accessible ramp for all to enter into the main entrance of the library."

She says they can't wait to break ground and see the plans come to life.

"For our first attempt at having a run here in Carman, so excited to say we were sold out," says Froebe.

There were over 200 participants from Brandon, Brunkild, Carman, Darlingford, Elm Creek, Graysville, Homewood, La Salle, Miami, Morden, Ottawa, Portage la Prairie, Roland, Roseisle, Sanford, Somerset, Sperling, Treherne, and Winnipeg.

She adds that she's, "just blown away by the kids that did fundraising for this component as well, all going to the Boyne Regional Library."

Although totals have not been released, Froebe says at least $2,800 was fundraised from the runners that took part.
