Though only the hog industry is under close scrutiny currently, the province's ban on hog barn construction and expansion will impact all facets of the agriculture industry.

That assertion from Keystone Agricultural Producers President David Rolfe.

K.AP. , along with Manitoba Pork Council and the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, has called on the doer government to overturn the temporary pause.

Rolfe stresses the ban has already damaged the hog industry's public image, and creates and uncertain climate for all those who deal with it.

He adds agriculture already faces enough uncertainty and risk without having additional pressures being added by the province.
