The Winkler Panthers captured Softball Manitoba's Provincial U11 "A" Championship this past weekend at Buhler Recreational Park in Winnipeg.

The Panthers reeled off eight straight wins in earning the Provincial title.

Winkler defeated La Salle 14-0; downed Deloraine 17-1; beat Seine River 16-1 and shutout Brandon 13-1 in the round robin.

The Panthers won their playoff opener 9-0 over Sanford and then beat the Balmoral Orioles 10-5 in the quarterfinals; shaded the Brandon Cardinals 4-3 in an extra inning in the semifinals and outscored Virden 8-5 in the gold medal game.
