Longtime Tory MLA Denis Rocan will have some competition for the Carman constituency nomination.

 

Blain Pederson of Elm Creek filed his nomination papers last week.

 

Pederson says he feels the area has been underrepresented.

 

He says the area needs to be promoted and a plan developed to help prevent rural depopulation.

 

Pederson is concerned about health care, the long term sustainibility of health care facilities and road reparis.

 

He has wide support throughout the constituency and beleives his previous experience as Portage-Lisgar Riding Association President will benefit him.

 

A nomination meeting is expected this fall.
