Keystone Agricultural Producers feels it's interesting Agriculture Minister Chuck Strahl has called a plebiscite early next year for just barley.

President David Rolfe stresses he still wants a vote on the future of single desk selling of wheat.

He hopes the upcoming vote is more than just a consultation process, and the minister treats the results as binding.

Rolfe stresses what's the point of holding a plebiscite if it ends up being nothing more than a survey.

He also hopes the minister keeps his commitment of consulting a broad base of stakeholders when developing the voters list and plebiscite question.

Rolfe stresses up to this point though, the minister has taken a very one sided approach to the future of the Canadian Wheat Board's single desk powers.
