Police are reminding residents to be in close communication with elderly family members and friends.

On February 24, Morden Police Service received a request for a well-being check on a caller's elderly sister-in-law.

Family members had not been able to reach her in over a day. Police arrived on scene and found the woman had fallen and was not able to get up.

Police stayed with her until the ambulance arrived.

Sergeant Chris Flook stresses family should regularly check up on their loved ones, adding neighbours can be a great resource when looking out for elderly family.

Technology like medical alert systems for older adults can also be important support.

"Lifeline type devices are great when utilized and they have helped paramedics and police in the past get to someone in distress quickly," Flook adds.
