Work has begun on the Municipality of Rhineland's $4.8 million dollar Priority Grains Roads initiative.

The gravel has been stripped and reconstruction of a road has begun at the Rhineland Ag Park, north of Altona, and traffic is being diverted.

Phase 1 of the overall project involves building about a half-mile of concrete roads in both of the Municipality's industrial parks.

Phase 2, set to happen next year, will see drain tile installed along the entire priority grain road network with the intent to better secure the road surfaces.

A third phase, set for 2024, has yet to be tendered out.
