A couple of producers from the southeast feel their supply managed industries will continue to flourish despite the lack of a deal on agriculture at the World Trade Organization.

Waldie Klassen, a broiler chicken producer and Chair of Manitoba Chicken Producers, says it is business as usual.

He is pleased with the Canadian government and the support they have given supply management at the W.T.O. talks.

David Wiens is a dairy producer near Grunthal and is a director of the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba.
the end of these talks hasn't been a bad thing for his industry either.

He says the supply managed dairy system in Canada has been in place for forty years.

Wiens explains it still works and will continue to work for years to come.
