A number of Morden residents have entered the workplace, thanks to the "New Start" program.

The project was desgined to teach skills to those who had been marginalized for whatever reason.

Chamber of Commerce President Dave Wilkinson says participants learned interview techniques, resume presentation, self discipline in the workplace, working with other people.

Wilkinson says eighty per cent of participants found work or went on to further education.

He says this project comes on the heels of a similar program run in Winkler last year, with a similar success rate.

Wilkinson says he is hopeful the project will catch on in other parts of the province and country.
