1009 lbs is the largest pumpkin to ever be weighed at the Roland Pumpkin Fair.

Organizer Art Cameron says they hope to beat that at the fair this Saturday.

Cameron explains they start with the smallest pumpkin and work their way up to the largest one.

The person with the largest pumpkin wins a $1000 grand prize.

There are also prizes for those with smaller pumpkins.

Cameron adds they have a car show, crafts, a dog show, magician, and entertainment all day long.

They also have a pancake breakfast, Pumpkin Patch Tea Room and a full course harvest supper.

He says the Pumpkin Fair attracts growers from all over southern Manitoba, and some of the Northern states.
