Putting their goals and visions into a strategic plan earlier this year, the board and the directors of the Pembina Valley Bible Camp are committed to seeing that plan through.
Board Chair Larry Schroeder says one of the things they're moving forward with is broadening the group of people they draw to the camp. Schroeder says they are doing that by building partnerships with local ministries in Southern Manitoba.
Schroeder says a partnership has already been formed between PV Bible Camp and Youth for Christ in Morden. "We get to know the kids...the youth, and build those relationships and encourage them to join us at the Bible Camp. So we're trying to expand that way."
Schroeder says they're also strategically working towards mentoring their spring and summer staff, not only for the summer but for the entire year. He said they're an important part of the camp ministry, and said 'they need to be encouraged in their walk with Christ and encouraged to foster discipleship in others.' Schroeder said that's a year-long process.
Schroeder said they're looking at ministry 'as more than a one-week opportunity with the kids that come to camp.'
