The Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association has mixed feelings to the recommendations from the federal task force on implementing marketing choice.

President Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel feels the report would allow for a smooth transition from a Canadian Wheat Board with monopoly powers to a new entity in a marketing choice environment.

At the same time she's disappointed with the timeline suggested for implementing marketing choice.

The task force has recommended February 1st, 2008 for barley and August 1st, 2008 for wheat.

The Association has been advocating for a August 1st, 2007 start date for both grains.
