Six hundred Manitobans who have served with Mennonite Central Committe over the years are invited to the organization's annual Alumni Reunion Barbeque September 12th. The event takes place at Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg.

Organizer Janielle Siemens says this includes volunteers who have served both short and long term, and she expects around two hundred to attend. She adds this event is a good reminder of how many people who have invested in M.C.C. over the years, noting they are passionate about the organization and it's work. Siemens says the reunion is a time for past volunteers to reflect on their experiences serving in times of disaster.

She adds certain volunteer roles have changed over the years, and says the reunion also allows volunteers from different generations to connect and talk about thier service time. Siemens notes there are currently twenty-five volunteers serving including Africa, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and North America. She adds those workers are individuals or families and serve for an average of three years. She says to this day M.C.C. still has people interested in serving.

Siemens notes the program hasn't been finalized yet, but will include recently returned workers talking about the work they were doing.
