A 22-year-old man is facing a trio of assault charges after an incident Friday on the Roseau River First Nation.

Members of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service were called to a home shortly before 8 a.m. where a man reported an assault on his sister. The woman indicated to police that a man had appeared in her bedroom and started assaulting her. Officers also discovered a damaged van in the driveway.

The suspect had already left the home when police received a second report of an extremely agitated man walking in the area.

Police were eventually able to speak to the suspect after he'd calmed down, and he was taken into custody.
