The future of the Canadian Wheat Board will be discussed July 27th at a meeting chaired by Parliamentary Secretary David Anderson.

Agriculture Minister Chuck Strahl announced yesterday he will take part in the round table discussion.

The event will feature a cross-section of western canadian farmers, stakeholder organizations and others who support the advancement of marketing choice for farmers as a means for creating greater financial returns.

Strahl says the invited experts will help chart a path towards a successful marketing choice alternative that will also ensure a strong and profitable c-w-b continues to serve farmers in the future.

He adds the ideas presented and discussed at the meeting will contribute to delivering on the tories campaign promise to implement dual-marketing for western wheat and barley producers.
