The Borderland School Division is considering making significant changes to the school structure.

Superintendent Tim Mendel says they have formed a committee that is executing a study on configuring the three elementary and junior high schools into three K-8 facilities.

He says the amount of school transitions that students undergo in Altona is a concern.

Mendel says having to adjust every few years has it's effects on learning ability.

Mendel adds currently this is just a study and nothing is set in stone.

He plans to meet with staff and hold a parent information night.
