The search continues Friday in the RM of Piney for 84-year-old Mary Byman. She has been missing since 4:00 p.m. Wednesday when she got separated from a friend who was picking blueberries with her in the bush between Piney and Menisino. Sergeant Stephen Rear of the regional RCMP Search and Rescue team brings us up to date on the search.

"We did operations until about 10:00 last night. We had about 100 people here yesterday between volunteers and trained ground search and rescue teams from the various fire departments in the area. Today, we're just engaging those same resources and we're going to hit areas that we haven't hit. As well, we're going back to areas that we've already looked at, just in case she is still moving about and she's moved back into an already-searched area."

RCMP being assisted in the search by the Piney Fire Department, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association as well as volunteers. He adds there is good volunteer support again this morning.

"We have about three dozen right now who are searching. People from Winnipeg have shown up to help search, people are coming from far and wide. Through media and FaceBook, they are responding. Many of them are untrained, but we're also getting a lot of trained volunteers through the ground search and rescue teams."
