Morden Police have charged a 29-year-old male with multiple counts of assault following subsequent incidents this past Sunday.
    
Police were first flagged down by a male advising them he had just been assaulted by a male outside of a local business. The male told police that while he was speaking to a group of people, another male approached him and punched him in the face. 
    
The suspect then got into a taxi and left the area. 
    
Approximately half an hour later police received a second report of assault. The caller reported being assaulted by a male who refused to leave his taxi. 
    
Police responded and located the male in the back of the taxi. 
    
He was the suspect in the earlier assault. 
    
The 29-year-old male was arrested for two counts of Assault and released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in July.

 

A 37-year-old male was recently arrested and charged following a routine traffic stop by Morden Police.
    
Officers initially stopped the vehicle for having a burnt-out headlight, and while speaking to the driver, police smelled an odour of cannabis coming from the vehicle.
    
Drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle, and checks on the driver found him to be on a condition to not possess or consume illegal drugs. 
    
The male was charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of  Fail to Comply with an Undertaking. 
    
He was released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in June.

 


Meanwhile, a routine traffic stop by Morden Police shortly after midnight on April 20th resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old male.
    
Checks of the driver found him to have a cancelled driver's licence.
    
During the stop, Police spotted a large quantity of marijuana in the backseat of the vehicle, and checks of the driver found him to have a cancelled driver's licence

The driver was later found to be in possession of Methamphetamine as well.

The male was arrested and charged with Unlawful Transportation of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, Possess Cannabis not Packaged, Labelled 
and Stamped and Possession of a Controlled Substance. 
    
He was released on an Undertaking to appear in Morden Provincial Court in May, in addition to being issued an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial 
Court in May.
