Local manufacturers are opening up their book of trade secrets to help other businesses find success.

The annual Southern Manitoba Manufacturers' Summit will connect hundreds of companies and feature local keynote speakers from Triple E Canada, SteelTech and SolutionsIT, sharing tricks on surviving cyber attacks or developing their workforce through immigration.

The day is organized by Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME).

"Every company benefits from having a chance to look at others to see how they're doing business, how things can be done differently," CME VP, Ron Koslowsky says. "It's working on your business instead of just in your business... lifting your head up from the day-to-day."

Koslowsky explains Southern Manitoba has become a hub for manufacturing, "the people have grown up without all the services the companies in Winnipeg have, and as a result learned to become fairly independent, develop their own supply chain or produce full products... from that perspective, I've seen a lot of real companies."

"The tendency for companies is to think of guarding their own business practices," Koslowsky says. "But we get companies together to talk about things they've learned whether it's trade, protection or technology... and they're prepared to share. The more we've been able to foster that the more companies have seen the value and been prepared to share as well. It's a positive cycle."

The summit takes place Thursday, October 24 at the Morden Access Event Centre. Click HERE to earn more.
