The playoffs begin today at the Centennial Cup at Stride Place. The Ontario Junior Hockey League champion Collingwood Blues face the Central Canada Hockey League champion Ottawa Senators at 3:30 p.m. and the host Portage Terriers meet the Maritime Junior Hockey League champion Yarmouth Mariners at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals. The winners join the Alberta Junior Hockey League champion Brooks Bandits and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League champion Battlefords North Stars in the semifinals. 


The Winnipeg Ice take on the Thunderbirds in Seattle tonight in game five of the Western Hockey League's best-of-seven final. The T-Birds lead the series three games to one after beating the Ice 4-2 in game four on Wednesday night. 


The Winnipeg Goldeyes play their 30th home opener tonight at Shaw Park. The Fish face the Lake Country DockHounds. The Goldeyes were 2-4 on their season opening American Association six-game road trip.


It's day six of Winnipeg Blue Bombers main camp. Today's practice session at IG Field is from 8:30 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. The Blue Bombers first exhibition game is Saturday, May 27th against the Edmonton Elks at Commonwealth Stadium.
