Cole Maier scored the tying goal with 53 seconds left in the third period and Jansen Harkins potted the winner 1:32 into overtime to lift the Manitoba Moose past the Milwaukee Admirals 3-2 Sunday at Canada Life Centre. Nicholas Jones also scored for the Moose who evened the Calder Cup's best-of-five Central Division semifinal at a game apiece. Manitoba goaltender Oskari Salminen made 30 saves. Game three goes Wednesday in Milwaukee. 


Canada won bronze Sunday at the 2023 World U18 Hockey Championship in Basel, Switzerland. Macklin Celebrini scored his second goal of the game 7:51 into overtime to lift Canada past Slovakia 4-3. Matthew Wood potted the tying goal with 70 seconds left in regulation and goaltender Gabriel D'Aigle on the bench for an extra attacker. D'Aigle became the first 16-year-old goaltender to ever start a game at the tournament and finished with 26 saves. Brandon Wheat Kings netminder Carson Bjarnason of Carberry suffered an upper-body injury in the third period of Canada's semifinal loss to Sweden on Saturday. Ryan Leonard scored in overtime to lift the United States past Sweden 3-2 in the gold medal game. 


The Blizzard du Séminaire Saint-François won the 2023 Men’s U18 National Club Championship, defeating the Gaulois de Saint-Hyacinthe 3-2 in the gold medal game Sunday night at Stade L.-P.-Gaucher. Marc-Olivier Roy scored two goals in a span of 1:46 midway through the third period to give the Blizzard the lead for good and give the Quebec representatives their first national title since 2001 (when they were known as the Gouverneurs de Ste-Foy) and their fifth overall, tying them with Notre Dame Hounds for the most ever.


The Stoney Creek Sabres won their first Esso Cup, defeating the Fraser Valley Rush 5-4 Saturday afternoon to win gold at Canada’s Women’s U18 National Club Championship in Prince Albert. Madison Burr scored the game-winning goal with 1:20 remaining in the third period, beating Fraser Valley goaltender Rebecca Noble to cap off a four-goal period for the Sabres.


Stony Mountain's Aaron Cockerill finished in a tie for 21st at the DP World Tour's Korea Championship. Cockerill fired a final round even par 72 and was seven shots back of Pablo Larrazabal. Cockerill moved from 25th to 24th in the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai Rankings.
