Eight Zone 4 high school varsity volleyball teams will play in provincial qualifiers today. The Miami Marlins and Dufferin Christian Stingers are at the “A” girls qualifiers. The Marlins are in Deloraine and the Stingers are in Baldur. Miami is at the “A” boys qualifier in Glenboro. The Rosenort Redhawks and St. Paul’s Barons are at “AA” girls qualifiers. The Redhawks are hosting their qualifier while the Barons are in Winnipeg. Rosenort, St. Paul’s and Morris are at “AA” boys qualifiers. The Redhawks are in Ile des Chenes, the Barons are at Birtle and the Mavericks are in Ile des Chenes.
 

Reece Fehr had a hat trick and Eli Bergman scored in overtime to lift the Miller Aces past the defending Zone 4 High School Hockey League champion PCI Trojans 6-5. Ziko Pankratz and Oakley Peters also scored for the Aces. Alex Van Deynze had a pair of goals for Portage Collegiate and the rest went to Logan Budz, JJ Oke and Cam Sarna. Michael Lust, Philip Franz, Julian Bruhn, Justin Hildebrand, Haiden Friesen and Brayden Froese each had a goal and an assist as the Garden Valley Zodiacs downed Northlands Parkway 6-1. Jordan Knelsen had the lone goal for the Nighthawks. Rylan Keck scored twice and Alex James made 12 saves as Morris blanked the Mountain Mustangs 4-0. Logan Dearborn and Awstin Suwala also score for the Mavericks.
 

Malachi Klassen made 37 saves as the Winkler Flyers downed the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 4-1 at the Centennial Arena. Trent Penner, Rhett Marchant, Nicholas McKee and Mike Svenson with his 15th of the season did the goal scoring for the Flyers who face the Wolverines in Waywayseecappo tonight.
 

Marek Miller scored 4:32 into overtime to lift the Pembina Valley Hawks past the Eastman Selects 4-3 at the Sun Gro Centre in Beausejour. Jayden Penner, Sebastien Hicks and Liam Goertzen scored in regulation for the Hawks. Pembina Valley netminder Bryson Yaschyshyn made 42 saves.
 

Jonah Wasylak and Nathan Ayotte scored in the shootout as the Red River Wild edged the Aces 2-1 in Ste. Anne in the lone SEMHL game. TJ Mauszewski had the lone goal in regulation for the Wild. It was Owen Blocker for the Aces.
 

The Brandon Wheat Kings dropped a 5-3 decision to Edmonton. Gavin Hodnett had a hat trick for the Oil Kings including the insurance marker into an empty net with 33 seconds left in the third period. Nolan Ritchie had a pair of goals for the Wheat Kings who are 0-4 on their five-game road trip. Nate Danielson also scored for Brandon.
 

The Manitoba Moose lost 6-5 to the Texas Stars. Will Butcher scored the tying goal with 10 seconds left in the third period and Jacob Peterson potted the winner 3:49 into overtime for the Stars. Jeff Mallot scored twice for the Moose. Manitoba and Texas combined for six third period goals including four in the final two minutes and 11 seconds.
 

Murray Warren has a 7-2 record and Mark Franklin is 6-3 heading into the final round robin draw at the Canadian Masters Curling Championship at the Pembina Curling Club in Winnipeg. Judy Colwell finished with a 7-2 record and has qualified for the women’s semifinals.
