Cole Patenaude scored the go-ahead goal with 10:24 left in the third period as Pembina edged Morris 3-2. Ben Kubinec and Grady Ross also scored for the Tigers who lead the Zone 4 High School Hockey League standings with a 5-0 record. Seth Laroche had both goals for the Mavericks. Layne Bourdeaud'hui, Ethan Desrochers and Brett Lesage did the goal scoring as the Mountain Mustangs beat Garden Valley 3-1. Julian Bruhn had the lone goal for the Zodiacs. Josh Ryckman-Guilford had two goals and an assist and Easton Hildebrand made 17 saves as Morden blanked the Carman Cougars 6-0. Logan Carson, Darby Olson, Owen Vanrobaeys and Acoyen Fehr also scored for the Thunder who improved to 4-0 on the season. 


The Pembina Valley Hawks gave up three power play goals and a shorthanded marker in a 6-3 loss to the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League leading Brandon Wheat Kings. Marek Miller, Liam Goertzen and Ty Love scored for the Hawks. Ekam Dhaliwal had a pair of goals for the Wheat Kings who improved to 13-0 on the season. Pembina Valley netminder Bryson Yaschyshyn faced 46 shots.


Skyler Bruce, Connor McClennan and Owen Pederson potted two goals each as the Winnipeg Ice defeated the Red Deer Rebels 7-4. Conor Geekie also scored for the Ice who have won 17 of 18 games this season. 


Dennis Williams has been named Team Canada's head coach for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship. Williams was an assistant on Dave Cameron's staff that helped Canada win the gold medal at the 2022 tournament this past summer in Edmonton. The 2023 championship starts Boxing Day in Halifax and Moncton.


Corey Chambers along with third Lisa McLeod, second Nigel Milnes and lead Jolene Callum of the Miami Curling Club have a 2 and 4 round robin record heading into day five of the 2022 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Prince Albert.
