The Winkler Flyers lost 2-1 in a shootout to the Portage Terriers at Stride Place. Terriers forward Austin McLean scored the only goal of the shootout. Zach Nicolas had Winkler's lone goal in regulation. Malachi Klassen stopped 26 shots in net for the Flyers (4-1-0-1) who play a home-and-home with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines this weekend. 


Steven Arp and Connor McClennon had two goals each as the Winnipeg Ice downed the Raiders 6-2 in Prince Albert. Aiden Oiring and Conor Geekie also scored for the Ice. Connor Dale chipped in with three assists. 


The Winnipeg Jets play their third of six exhibition games tonight against the Canadiens in Montreal. The Jets have a 1-1 preseason record. Winnipeg lost 4-0 to the Edmonton Oilers Sunday at Rogers Place and defeated the Ottawa Senators 5-3 Tuesday at Canada Life Centre.


The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American defensive end Keion Adams to the practice roster. The Salisbury, North Carolina native joins the Blue Bombers after spending the past two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Since joining the CFL, Adams has appeared in 16 games registering four sacks and 27 tackles. Before that, Adams spent four years at Western Michigan. During his senior year in 2016, Adams led the MAC in tackles for loss with 18 and led his team in sacks with 7.5. Adams was selected in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers where he would spend two seasons. He also spent time with the New York Giants before signing with the Roughriders.


The Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Canadian Football League announced that the 109th Grey Cup game is sold out. More than 33,000 are expected to attend the CFL championship game at Regina's Mosaic Stadium on November 20th. Regina last hosted the Grey Cup in 2013 when the hometown Roughriders defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 45-23.
