STARS Air Ambulance raised over $385,000 this week during its Manitoba 'Rescue on the Island' event.

Parallel Ag Group CEO Brent Manning raised the most money, bringing in just over $85,000. The group consists of 6six independent ag retailers in the region. They are GJ Chemical in Arnaud and Altona, MK Agro in Brunkild, Dale Air Services in Morris, SJ Agronomy services in Miami, and Friesen Seeds in Rosenort.

"Everybody knows how great STARS is but you see the camaraderie, how great the organization works together, how professional this team is," he said. "It's basically a small family of people that are working together that absolutely love their job and are the best of the best in what they do. Being a part of that day and a part of that experience is something I'll never forget."

This year's group of seven broke the Manitoba fundraising record, earning over $385,000.

The event took place on Carter Island in the Whiteshell.

More than $1.4 million dollars has been raised through Rescue on the Island over the last six years.
