The President of Quebec's Union de Producteur Agricoles feels it should be farmers who decide the future of orderly marketing systems not government.


Laurent Pellerin has no problem with changes being considered for the Canadian Wheat Board or supply management.


His concern lies with the federal government trying to make changes unilaterally.


Pellerin notes farmers in Eastern Canada are watching what is happening with the Canadian Wheat Board.


He says it is a Western Canadian institution, but changes here will impact what happens in the East.
