Just over $45,000 was raised during the Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation (BTHC) Golf Tournament on Thursday, held at the Winkler Centennial Golf Course.

The annual event is one of the foundation's biggest fundraisers of the year, the other being its fall banquet.

BTHC Foundation Chairman Ben Friesen, says it was great to see the 'community' come out and support the foundation.

He said they a lot of people there from the businesses around Morden, Winkler and the R.M. of Stanley participate as well as area health care workers giving back to the cause. "We are just so thankful for all of the health care workers in the area here that have just continued to contribute throughout this, you know some pretty stressful years the last two years, and yet they've been hanging in there and working hard," said Friesen.

Friesen says the golf tournament helps the BTHC Foundation meet its regular budget, allowing them to continue funding the palliative care and spiritual care programs, as well as fund additional equipment for the hospital.
