An estimated $1.8 million upgrade is slated for the Municipality of Rhineland's pump house and reservoir in Gnadenthal.

Manitoba Water Services Board has been recruited to complete the facility's redesign, and Associate Engineering has submitted its report for Council to review, explained Reeve Don Wiebe.

"This report looked at the daily flows and peak demand over the last few years. As such, this resulted in a recommendation that includes a new reservoir, mechanical upgrades such as pumps, and THM (Trihalomethane) removal system," he noted.

Gnadenthal is also home to a raw water fill station but, unfortunately, no changes are slated for that facility, added Wiebe. "Hopefully this can be addressed in the near future."
