Showery weather and cooler temperatures limited harvest progress in South-central Manitoba last week.

This week’s Manitoba Agriculture crop report states the majority of harvest operations have wrapped with the odd flax field still to be combined.

Most edible beans are done, with yields of 1400 to to 2300  pounds per acre with generally good quality.

Soybeans are well over 50% finished, with yields of 10 to 40 bushels per acre, but averaging 25.

Early yield reports for sunflowers range from 1400 to 2600 lbs/ac.

Hemp harvest is yielding 800 to 1000 lbs/ac.

Potato harvest continues to advance, with yields ranging from less than 200 hundredweights per acre, to higher than 300 on irrigated acres.

Harvesting of grain corn has just begun.
