Rainfall over the weekend in Southcentral Manitoba will benefit long season crops like soybeans, sunflowers, and corn.

This week’s Manitoba Agriculture crop report states harvest progress is most advanced in the eastern part of the region with up to 50% of cereals harvested.

Gladstone, Treherne, Somerset, and Pilot Mound report 5-20% of the wheat harvested.

Good quality and good bushel weight is being reported for most spring wheat and oat crops.

Wheat yields range from 30 to 70 bushels per acre, barley 65 to 100, and oats 60 to 120.

Swathing of canola continues, and some fields have been harvested.

Early yields range from 15 to 40 bushels per acre, with a few reports of 45 bushels plus.
