Crops contune to progress faster than average in South-central Manitoba due to the prolonged spell of hot and dry weather.

This week's Manitoba Agriculture crop report states winter wheat harvest is nearing completion, and yields are ranging from 65 to 80 bushels per acre with good quality.

Canola, wheat, barley and oats are starting to be swathed.

Spring wheat fields will be sprayed with pre-harvest glyphosate this week.

Edible beasn are podding well given the lack of moisture, while soybeans are flowering and podding.

Sunflowers are blooming and some spraying for sunflower beetle larva and lygus bugs has occurred.

Corn is tasseling and starting to set cobs.

Some second cut alfalfa is underway with other fields being pastured due to not enough growth to warrant haying.
