The Progressive Conservative's agriculture critic is giving yesterday's speech from the throne a failing grade.

Lakeside M.L.A. Ralph Eichler says once again agricultural issues were not brought to the fore front by Agriculture Minister Rosann Wowchuk.

He says a P.C. government would have focused on value added opportunities provided by emerging technologies in areas such as nutraceuticals.

The N.D.P. did commit to support the expansion of the bio-diesel sector in our province.

Eichler stresses long term sustainability needs to be the focus.

As for the guarantee of a Manitoba producer vote on Canadian Wheat Board changes, the ag critic maintains it's still a waste of taxpayers money.
