The Tinker Creek mountain biking duo is back after finishing 42nd of the 90 competitors at the TransRockies Challenge 5.

James Friesen says it was the most challenging physical and psychological thing he has ever done.

He notes the training he did with his son throughout the year prepared them for the race....the mountains just provided more extreme conditions.

James says his favourite part was competing in the race with his son and just working off each other.

He also enjoyed the company of his fellow riders who represented 20 countries.

He says their overall goal was to finish the race, and when they crossed the final finish line within the qualifying time, it was an emotional experience.

James says throughout the week, him and his son seemed to grow stronger, and decided this was something they could do again in the future.
