Manitoba's first human cases of West Nile Virus came in a bundle this year.

Five cases have been reported, Two in the Central Region and three in the Interlake.

Dr. Shelley Buchan is the Central Region's medical officer of health.

She says the risk isn't any greater in those regions and the whole province remains at risk.

Buchan adds there is a broad spectrum at which people can become infected.

For every one person experiencing symptoms five people have developed immunity.

Buchan recommends people keep up precautionary measures and if feverish like symptoms appear consult a doctor.
