Manitoba's top doctor is holding a press conference Wednesday to provide an update on COVID-19 vaccination eligibility in the province.

Dr. Brent Roussin will speak to the media at 12:30 p.m. You will be able to watch the press conference live on this page at that time.

The province's Health Minister, Audrey Gordon, said on Tuesday that details were coming soon on Moderna's vaccine that has been approved for use on children under five, including infants. "This is an exciting announcement for so many families that have been waiting for Health Canada to approve the vaccine," Gordon told reporters.

Roussin is expected to provide details on how the province will roll out the vaccination campaign for children. He last spoke to reporters on May 20, when he gave an update on COVID-19 cases in the province.

Manitoba has dropped to an average of 33 new cases per seven days compared to its high through the pandemic of 2,382 new cases in January of 2022. However, the province is no longer testing everyone with symptoms.
