The Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association will be taking part in a roundtable discussion on the future of the Canadian Wheat Board later this month.
President Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel says the focus will be on developing ideas on how to best implement a dual marketing system for and barley in Western Canada.
She is pleased the Tories are finally moving ahead with their campaign promise, but is disappointed it's taken so long.
Jolly-Nagel has a number of issues she wants to bring up, including the establishment of a firm deadline for implementation, and how to ensure the Wheat Board's survival after the change.
The meeting will take place July 27th in Saskatoon, and will be chaired by Saskatchewan Conservative M.P. David Anderson.
Agriculture Minister Chuck Strahl has indicated he will be taking part.
