The Pembina Valley will be draped in red and white Friday with communities pretty much everywhere hosting Canada Day celebrations as we join together to reflect on our past, present and future of the Great White North. Below are some of the community events planned for July 1st. Click the town link to get all the details: 

Altona – free swimming, food trucks, chalk drawing contest, petting zoo and kiddie carnival, free watermelon and rollkuchen, performances by Roseau River Drum Band, The Pylons and Sun Sets West 

Winkler – Come to Parkland Stage for car show at 1pm, entertainment at 4pm, $5 supper provided by Winkler Co-op 

Morden - Beach Blast at Lake Minnewasta is happening Canada Day from one to eleven-thirty! There will be food vendors, sandcastle competition, children’s activities, multi-cultural performances, along with more music in the evening. Fireworks to follow at eleven. 

Carman – Free swimming, free cake, hot dogs, and drinks at the pool from noon to two. Bouncy castle.

Elm Creek - Community wide celebration for Canada Day in Elm Creek. Day includes a free pancake breakfast, parade, BBQ lunch, dunk tank, kids train, pony rides, petting zoo, photo booth, bouncy castles, children's entertainer, balloons, slow pitch tournament, antique threshing, 4H beef club show, truck & tractor pull and fireworks!

Emerson – at Emerson Park: pancake breakfast, slo-pitch, petting zoo, bouncers, kids activities, lots of entertainment at Main Stage, pulled pork supper, family golf on July 2nd  

Lowe Farm – parade at 1pm, kids’ activities, slo-pitch, show and shine, free supper, performance by country artist Cindi Cain, fireworks 

Morris – free swimming, at the Multiplex there will be bounce house for kids, giveaways, food, music and more 

Roland – Fireman’s Canada Day picnic at Roland Arena with activities from 9am to dusk! Slo-pitch, silent auction, kids’ games, BBQ supper, music by The Committee, fireworks 

Roseisle – waffle breakfast, parade, flea market, petting zoo, entertainment, lawn tractor races, tractor pull, fireworks
