Residents from across the region are celebrating Canada's 152nd birthday Monday.

A Canada Day carnival will take place in Winkler with free entertainment, games and supper for $5.

In Altona, festivities will happen at Centennial Park starting with free swimming, food trucks, inflatables and live music, capped off with fireworks.

In Carman, festivities at Kings Park include free cake, hot dogs and drinks at the pool from noon to 2 p.m., and free swimming from noon to 3 p.m.. Other children’s activities will be going on as well.

Elm Creek will see a full day of free family fun. Activities include free pancake breakfast, bike decorating contest, parade, bbq lunch, children's entertainer, bouncy castles, petting zoo, kids' train, pony rides, face painting, photo booth, slow-pitch tournament, antique threshing demonstration, STARS ambulance fundraiser, tractor pull and fireworks.

Morden’s Canada Day Beach Blast begins at 1 p.m. at Lake Minnewasta. There will be a kids’ scavenger hunt, face painting and sandcastle contest. Multicultural performers take the stage from 1:30 to 3 followed by music by Total Sound. Food vendors will be on site as well. At 8 p.m., Rock The House will take the stage followed by Fun and Fire and fireworks.

In Morris, Canada Day celebrations at Morris Park include lots of free kids activities, bbq lunch and cake, carnival games, 2 p.m. magic show, free swimming from 1 to 8 p.m., family movie at 9:30 featuring How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, followed by fireworks. Rain location is Morris Multiplex.

Roseisle begins the day with a waffle breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m., followed by a parade at 10:30, flea market, petting zoo, kids activities, baseball, entertainment, lawn tractor races, tractor pull and fireworks at 11 p.m.

Winkler's celebrations start at 3:30 with kids karaoke in the Bethel Heritage Park. 4 p.m. the kids carnival and inflatables open up, and from 4:15 to 5:15 Brothers Keep will take the stage leading up to the opening ceremonies. Co-op's $5 supper with farmer sausage burgers, chips, drinks, and dessert is available from 5 to 7. The night ends with music from The Boy In The Sea at 5:45 and Kelli Trottier at 7.
