Lori Kane's approach shot to the 9th green at St. Charles during round one of the CN Canadian Women's Open

 

 

Michelle Wie has the lead heading into round two of the CN Canadian Womens's Open. Wie fired a seven-under par 65 Thursday at the St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg that included a hole-in-one, six birdies and a bogey. Wie is three shots ahead of Sarah Kemp and four shots up on defending champion Suzann Pettersen. Only 23 of the 154 golfers in the field broke par on day one. The low Canadian is Seema Sadekar of Toronto. She was one-over par 73. Charlettown's Lori Kane was 75 while Alena Sharp of Hamilton opened with a 76.

 

 

CFAM sports director Clayton Dreger asked 1999 Canadian Women's Open champion Karrie Webb, who was even par 72 in round one,  to talk about her 17 foot down hill birdie putt on the final hole

 

 

15 year old Alexis Thompson was one-under par 71 on Thursday and had this birdie attempt on the final hole
