A 23 year old Winkler male, and 19 year old Winkler female are both facing multiple drug and weapon related charges after being arrested at the conclusion of a cocaine trafficking investigation by Winkler Police Service, which included assistance from Morden Police Service.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. July 8th, officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 14 in the R.M. of Stanley. Both the male and female were arrested, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of cash, and a plastic bag with 24 unknown pills.

After the traffic stop, at approximately 12:10 a.m. July 9th, Winkler Police, with assistance from the Regional Support Tactical Team, executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Orion Lane. The search of the residence, with assistance from Police Service Dog Juno, resulted in the seizure of approximately 31.5 grams of cocaine, over $1,600 cash believed to be proceeds of drug trafficking, various edged weapons, a canister of bear spray, a replica handgun, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The 23-year-old Winkler male is facing charges of:

- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking,

- Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose,

- Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, and

- Two counts of Failing to Comply with an Undertaking.

The 19-year-old female from Winkler is facing charges of:

- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking,

- Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and

- Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

Both were released on Undertakings, and will appear in court this September in Morden.
