Winkler City Councillor, and Deputy Mayor, Andrew Froese has been granted a medical leave of absence through the end of the year. The motion was passed at last night's council meeting, and is effective immediately.

In a news release, Mayor Henry Siemens wished Froese a full recovery, and indicated council looks forward to his return when he is able to do so. He also asked the community to respect the Froese family's privacy as he recuperates.

Councillors Don Fehr, Michale Grenier, Don Friesen, Marvin Plett and Peter Froese, along with Mayor Siemens, remain.
