Six months after the earthquake, Haiti is still rebuilding. July 12th marked the six month anniversary of the devastating quake that nearly destroyed the already fragile country. Organizations like the Mennonite Central Committee are currently working on mid and long term plans.

MCC spokesperson Brad Reimer tells us, although they are continually working, they still have a lot of work ahead. He notes Haiti was very needy to start with, and it's going to take a long time to rebuild things like infrastructure and long term housing and employment.

One of the biggest issues they are now facing is land ownership. All the records and land titles were lost, and this will hold back the building of new housing. Reimer says it's now up to the government to straighten out the land question before they can move on. Although MCC is not soliciting for more funds, they are always appreciated.
