Altona Memorial Garden Service 2023
It was a beautiful evening to plant some trees, shrubs and flowers in memory of a loved one lost Tuesday evening in Altona. It was the 16th year of making additions to the Memorial Garden in the north east corner of town, there was 18 people memorialized at the event with families digging and planting to honor the memory of a loved one that has passed away. The ceremony included: reading the names of all 18 people memorialized, reading of a poem titled "The Next Place" by Warren Hanson, a prayer and of course, planting of trees & shrubs. Maria Nickel is The Volunteer Coordinator for The Altona & District Palliative Care Volunteer Team and CFAM Morning Show host Zack Driedger took some time at the event to get all the details from Maria.
