CFAM Night at the Pembina Valley Twisters took place Saturday, and we were very proud to be part of the the final of three days of fundraising for CancerCare Manitoba.

The Morris Mavericks, Red River MudBugs and Pembina Valley Twisters joined this year to continue a tradition started in 2009 of raising money for the organization.

The response from the community during the three games of each respective team Thursday, Friday and Saturday night was overwhelming and shattered the goal organizers had set.

Pat Schmitke is Co-Owner of the Twisters, and spoke with me as the team's game was winding down Saturday at the Morris Recreation Complex.

As of Saturday night the exact figure was still being tallied, but as Pat said, it will far surpass their goal of $10,000 and will more than likely be twice as much with the expectation of over $20,000 been raised.

And a huge thank you to all of you that joined us Saturday for the game as part of CFAM Night at the Pembina Valley Twisters. Through your generosity we were able to raise $1,640 for CancerCare Manitoba!
