Rain follows the snow, or it should. I hate to mention the “s” word, but definitely would like the “r” word to begin. RAIN! After a very long winter, and one with very little moisture, we are in need of the quenching drink it brings. Spring rains awaken plants and seeds; bringing color to our environment.

It is important to assist our plants by watering them when we can. All trees, shrubs, perennials are looking for moisture. Evergreens especially require the extra moisture, because the winter winds have dried all of their moist resources held in their foliage.

Bring out the hoses, and water slowly but thoroughly, allowing the moisture to go deep into the soil. As the weather warms, remember also to take a moment to quench your thirst as well.

Happy Gardening!
