The 8th and final event of the Access Credit Union Junior Golf Tour took place Wednesday at the Minnewasta Golf and Country Club in Morden with 37 young golfers participating.

The tour saw 82 young golfers come through the tour this summer from around the Pembina Valley Region. The tour started on July 6th in Roland and made its way to a different golf course every week for 8 weeks including Winker, Oakview (Gretna), Carman, Manitou, Miami and Riverview (Morris).

“We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the 8 golf courses for their participation in the 2017 Access Junior Golf Tour” Says Emily Suderman, Community Coordinator for Access Credit Union. “The golf courses work hard to ensure every stop on the tour is a success. They all want the kids to have fun, develop their skills, and grow their love of the game.”

Suderman also notes that Geoff Kehler, head professional at the Minnewasta Golf and Country Club, helps organize the tour and is instrumental in the success of the tour.

The Access Junior Golf Tour is a summer program open to golfers of all abilities, boys and girls, ages 9-18. Once a week for 8 weeks, young golfers get the opportunity to play golf with other young golfers who love the game and experience some of the beautiful courses that Manitoba has to offer. Each event includes a meal, snacks, prizes, and a round of golf. The cost is $20 per event or $140 for all 8 events. The tour is designed to promote fun and skill development.
